Description
An expression of modern Japanese finesse, the KARASHI packs four distinct actions into a compact lure: i-motion ultra finesse, sub-surface twitching, surface dog-walking, and bait-busting panic motion. Versatile and precise, the KARASHI gives you multiple approaches for tempting wary fish—use each mode independently or mix techniques in a single retrieve to provoke bites.
- i-motion: execute an ultra-slow retrieve that keeps the lure in the strike zone. The subtle, vulnerable wobble mimics injured prey and entices wary feeders.
- Twitching: a quick rod twitch sends the KARASHI darting just under the surface, producing an agile, erratic dart that draws reaction strikes from followers.
- Dog-walk: rhythmic twitches on the surface create a smooth dog-walking motion. Brief pauses let the lure slow-sink before it skates back to the surface, imitating a rising baitfish.
- Bait-busting: with rapid upward twitches and a fast retrieve the KARASHI splashes, hops and slices across the surface like fleeing baitfish, provoking aggressive hits.
We suggest pairing the KARASHI with ultralight spinning or BFS setups—examples include the TRIZA F0-63X AELLO or DESTROYER P5 F1.5-63X POPX STICK—to impart its intended action, cast accurately and soften the hookset on light line. For full dog-walking and twitch responsiveness, use lighter line when tying directly to the line eye (4-7lb fluorocarbon). For i-motion the lure will accept heavier line, but bulkier line will eventually dampen the lure’s delicate shimmy. If you focus on surface/twitch presentations, adding a small split ring or snap can increase freedom of movement.
The KARASHI comes fitted with a tinsel-dressed hook to add visual flash and help stabilize its i-motion swimming behavior.
