Retaining the original’s hard-thumping tail beat and pronounced head-shake, the FREESTYLE enhances the MAGDRAFT formula with fresh functionality while keeping the proven attraction that triggers strikes.
Fit a weighted 6/0 or 8/0 screw-lock hook when hunting fish in submerged vegetation — the kind of shade lines, grass lanes and isolated cover where trophy fish lurk. Ideal applications include tule edges, laydowns, slow-rolling along depth breaks and rapid “machine-gun” skips into tight dock shadows and overhangs. In open water, adding a blade can introduce flash and boost attraction on longer casts.
Mount a heavy jighead to work the bait along chunk-rock, execute curve-falls off river ledges, and probe main-lake drop-offs — reaching deeper zones the MAGDRAFT hasn’t explored yet. This setup excels at tracing bottom contours and bumping the substrate to entice reluctant fish.

The MAGDRAFT delivers its lethal combination of tail-thump and head-shake when retrieved at the right pace. Begin with a medium to medium/slow cadence and feel for the lure to come alive. If the tail drags, increase your retrieve speed. If the bait tracks sideways, inspect your rigging and/or reduce your speed until the MAGDRAFT runs square and transmits clear head-shaking action through the line.
