Yak Attack Black Pak Pro Kayak Fishing Crate

The original hard-sided kayak crate has been reimagined. Meet the redesigned BlackPak Pro.

Born from extensive collaboration and more than a year of research and development, the BlackPak Pro is fully configurable and now features a hinged lid, a 25% reduction in weight, and industry-leading practicality. Upgrades include expected improvements as well as signature YakAttack innovations that surprise on first use.

Size and Weight

The BLP-PRO-13X16 measures 13” x 16” x 13” (L, W, H) and weighs 7.6 lbs without TetherTubes and 9.2 lbs with the included four TetherTubes. The BlackPak Pro is also offered in two additional sizes: 13” x 13” and 16” x 16”.

Construction and Assembly

Made by injection molding from UV-stabilized polymers, the BlackPak Pro is built to withstand years of exposure to marine conditions. Its ultra-stiff panels use an internal rib structure to deliver exceptional rigidity while keeping weight low. Panels interlock with a tongue-and-groove GridLoc system for straightforward assembly — they press together and stay aligned during buildout. Assembly is finished with the supplied stainless steel screws using a standard screwdriver for a secure, no-fuss fit.

Hinged Lid

The lid is designed to shed water and features fully adjustable hinges that allow you to switch between free pivoting and a friction setting that holds the lid in place. Integrated overtravel stops keep the lid within reach and limit its opening angle for easier access. Sound-dampening rubber bumpers ensure quiet closings, and the innovative CatchLatch retention system secures the lid simply yet effectively.

Rod Holders

This crate includes four TetherTube rod holders complete with integrated — but easily removable — hook and tether systems to keep rods secure if the unexpected happens. Caged attachment points along the tube provide multiple tether locations, and the oversized hook can attach directly to a rod shaft when needed. The TetherTube mounts to the GridLoc panels using at least three of the four standoff pads, giving several vertical mounting options: position them high to accommodate long-butts or lower them to raise the crate into the HighNDry position. Additional TetherTubes are available separately as single units and two-packs.

Tankwell Security

Rubber feet provide vibration isolation and noise reduction, while Omni corner brackets accept multiple tie-down methods. These brackets serve as anchor points for YakAttack OmniHooks (four are included), generic hooks, carabiners, or simple bungee cord, making it easy to secure the crate in your tankwell.
