After four years of R&D, Sunline introduced Asegai braided line enhanced with patented Xplasma processing to deliver substantially increased slickness, abrasion resistance, and water repellency. Compared with our conventional braids, Asegai offers a 370% gain in slickness and a 260% improvement in smoothness. The Xplasma finish also raises hydrophobic performance by more than 240% over standard braided lines, resulting in longer casts and reduced freezing or buildup in guides and reels under cold conditions. Top braided-line anglers including Aaron Martens, Brent Ehrler, Brett Hite, Jason Christie, Todd Faircloth, and Dean Rojas helped refine the design. Asegai is a premium, eight-strand Japanese PE braid with a tightly woven surface, offered in two high-visibility greens.
