The centrifugal brake SVS INFINITY stretches the line’s flight smoothly well into the latter half of the cast. In the NEW ANTARES we targeted an ideal spool size to fully express the reel’s capabilities, arriving at line capacity values of nylon 14lb-100m and spool diameter/width of 37/21mm. The newly developed MGL SPOOL IV, with its inverse taper profile that corrects winding shape, together with a redesigned line guide and a worm shaft tuned to each gear ratio, allows the line to be wound evenly and balanced, cutting down on spool vibration during casts. Retaining both SILENT TUNE and S3D prevents loss of energy during casts and delivers a crisp casting feel that pushes performance to the limit. As the first baitcasting reel fitted with SILENTDRIVE, plus a 3 bearings support of the drive gear shaft, it offers a smooth, high-quality rotation. The palm contour sits naturally in the hand and the clutch design gives easy, stress-free spool access, so palming, disengaging the clutch, casting, working the lure and retrieving flow together seamlessly.
