In revising this model, engineers focused squarely on enhancing sensitivity and lifting capacity. Several of the applications this rod targets—spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, swim jigs, and vibration lures—are now often fished on braided line, particularly around heavy cover. Utilizing the new kabt™ metal microfiber, the DIABLO SPEC-R delivers greater lifting power without added weight, improving hookup and landing rates amid vegetation. Increased feel also sharpens bite detection on subtle presentations like swim jigs, where strikes may only register as slack line.
