Shimano Caius Clamshell

Engineered with advanced components, CAIUS delivers a precise, easy-to-use VBS braking system and a lightweight spool design that boost overall casting performance.

Housed in a compact, lightweight frame, the updated CAIUS incorporates proven features such as the Variable Brake System (VBS). The VBS relies on centrifugal force and movable weights rather than magnets to moderate initial spool acceleration, and its configuration lets the spool rotate freely through the end of the cast to help prevent backlash. Paired with the Super Free Spool architecture, this minimizes distance-robbing friction and enhances casting distance and consistency. A thin-walled, high-tolerance aluminum S3D spool reduces vibration and delivers the smooth baitcasting feel anglers expect from Shimano.
